“»Pronounced« portrays different characters in dance. I was interested in picking people who are not dancers. I saw something particular in their character or something unique in their body language. I tried to understand what could be the dance expression of each character or (body) language.
I worked in different ways, separately with each of them. Through the process, I got to know them better and discovered more details and layers of their lives. This affected the way of working in the studio and also brightened up the fact that their body language is already holding the story and history of each.
This process was fascinating, I saw beautiful and meaningful things happening through it.
Berlin has got a variety of people and it was a gift to connect with people of this city in such a deep way, through the process of dance and creating together this piece.”
