»Expanding Landscape«, the continuation project of the photographic series »Alpha++ Models«, focuses on the perception of landscapes and infrastructures, looking into the essential human needs of water, food, energy, transportation, and recreation; tracing the effects in the physical world. While humankind shifts more and more to a post-human virtual identity, the extensive use of physical recourses hasn’t slowed down and shows its devastating impact on vast stretching areas.

The photographs are shape shifters, in their sculptural-like composition, they show on the one hand a beauty in form and color and on the other an underlying urgency of ecosystems left untouched by human intervention in order to regenerate. The series shows technologies with a high water consumption, exhaustive cultivation, monoculture, and greenhouses which turn entire regions into dessert like landscapes, covered up under plastic foil. The scarcity of clean water in many places around the world, screams for a change of our values and an ability to connect again with our surrounding.
